The D-backs are inconsistent because their Manager is inconsistent. Treating each day as a new beginning. Unless injuries force him to be somewhat consistent.
They have not been a win-one lose-one team. They get cold. They get hot. It's all pot-luck.
And the problem of not being as good as home as they are on the road. That should have been worked out by now.
