Better than Christian Wood. He might be one of the only top guys left. His per36 stats are nice, if you like that sort of thing.

In May 2016, at the NBA Draft Combine, Diallo registered a 7-foot, 4½-inch wingspan and an 8-foot-11½ standing reach.

I liked Wood, but Diallo is an energy big. The Suns have liked having one of these guys on the bench.

Efficient scorer, good rebounder, blocks some shots. Fills the bill.

This is a good get. He's a longshot to realize his potential, but he could add some rim protection if he works his way into the rotation. I'd rather see him get minutes than Kaminsky, anyway.

We have to have a Kansas forward on our roster.

He looks more like a center than forward.

I never would have imagined that after the 2016 draft, the only power forward from that draft on our roster in 2019 would be Cheick Diallo, selected #33.

These kinds of signings are why teams do not value second-round picks much. There are always guys available in free agency that have more of a chance of making an impact. Diallo even has a chance someday of being a regular rotation guy--its a slim chance, but much better than a second-round pick.

Liked the video, he appears to do a lot of things. Except shoot from more than 6 feet from the basket, but he has good timing, hands and footwork. And he's only 22. I have a suspicion he's not signed to be an end of the bench guy all season.

I really like the Diallo signing especially on a 2 year contract.

Getting a two-year deal with a team option for year two is fantastic. He won't impact the cap because the cap hold is the minimum anyway, but they have control for two years. There is no downside for the team.

So. That is it for our off-season. This is the way I see the depth chart.

Pg: Rubio, Jerome, Lecque, Carter
SG: Booker, TyJohnson, Okobo
SF: Oubre, Bridges, CJohnson
PF: Saric, Kaminsky
C: Ayton, Baynes, Diallo

2-way: Harper, ???

One more two-way slot open. I think we probably wait to see if something good comes along. I would see Okobo getting traded or cut.

Lots of rolls to the basket for dunks, given that is all you see in the highlights I suspect he is very limited offensively. Reminds me of Holmes.

If the Pelicans didn't luck out and get the first pick this year. Diallo would have never hit the market.

I thought we didn't want Brandon Clarke?

Pretty sure we, and any other team, would have signed Clarke for the minimum.

Also, I suspect Clarke is going to be a lot better defensively than this kid. Not that I don't like this signing, good get for the minimum.

This looks like a nice signing.

He's a pretty good rebounder, efficient, and has shown improvement every year.

Yeah, not bad. Good way to fill out roster, has some defensive upside, which they badly needed.

I assume it's a minimum deal. I like the signing. That kid is raw, but he has some skill.

The stats don't make him appear as raw.

He shoots a good percentage everywhere except for 3pt range, plays good defense.

Statistically I don't really see any weaknesses, other than he has not got a lot of playing time.
