The Arizona Coyotes have acquired forward Phil Kessel and a 4th round pick from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward Alex Galchenyuk and defenceman Pierre-Olivier Joseph (23rd overall, 2017).

No salary retained.

Man like adding Kessel but we had to give up Galchenyuk?

I am watching the Dbacks game, and Kevin McCabe couldn't quit talking about the trade. The other two commentators finally started teasing him about how geeked up he is on this trade. I know Kevin McCabe is REALLY excited about it!

Coyotes trying to be the best team in the valley in 2019 - 2020

It's probably

Coyotes 1

Dbacks / Cardinals 2 /3

Suns waaaay back in 4th
Oh yeah, their GM is good! My family is already discussing going to some games next season! Can't wait to get my Tim Horton's coffee while watching the game.

Not sure if that quote means the Coyotes are done now. Or just that they have made their check marked goals before free agency open July 1.

Upon further review, this seems like a great strategic move by the Yotes... Galchenyuk is entering the final year of his deal, while the team will still control Kessel for the next 3, possibly 4 years.

Chayka is a very smart man...

I love Chayka. In my mind he's the best GM in the valley right now. If the Coyotes ever win the Stanley Cup under him, just imagine the hottest spot temperature wise wins the Stanley Cup? The middle of a desert wins professional hockey's top prize? That's just insane! But I am dreaming. :)
