Can you require a person to have 25+ posts in order to be able to start a thread?

It would only make us have to clean up 25 posts before cleaning up threads.

I don't think asking someone to have 25+ posts to start a thread is asking too much.

Agree, it might cut down on spam and trolls.

We used to have this in place, IIRC. We still got spammed, but as Nick said, then we had 25 "Cool thread." or "Nice story, bro." posts to trash on top of the spam posts. It also resulted in a ton of old threads being bumped to the top with comments that didn't always match the topic (which made them easier to spot in advance).

How about atleast 5 post likes before you can post a thread? Or 10 posts and 2 post likes? That could weed out the "Cool thread bro" posts.

Then post engagement would matter.

We have a pretty good handle on the spammers. I have no idea though how that recent one over the weekend got through.
