Zack Godley to rejoin D-backs rotation for series finale against Atlanta
“Zack will go ahead and be our starter tomorrow,” Lovullo said. “I’m kind of excited for him. I know it’s something that he’s been working hard to get to.”

Godley was moved to the D-backs bullpen on April 30 following a rough start to the season in which he had a 7.58 ERA in six starts.

Since his move to the bullpen, Godley has appeared in just two games.

'Would have liked to hear what the difference will be this time.

What have they worked on? What makes them think it will be
any different? What has earned him stepping back in?

This is part of what drives me nuts about Torey. Loyalty to a fault...again.

According to Steve, Godley is going to pitch once through the lineup today.

His first pitch was a long fly to the warning track. Then he gave up a
triple to the third batter. Luckily, he was left on 3B.

So we are now using an "opener". Then the bullpen will have to cover the
rest of the game.

I've posted this before, but does anyone have any idea -- specifically -- why
Duplantier, a starter, was promoted from the Minors . . . to be a reliever?

The D-backs leave the bases loaded in the bottom of the 1st.

Their batting average with runners in scoring position is horrible.

The Braves starter did throw 28 pitches in the inning.

Bases loaded 1 out and we get nothing. Can’t seem to get that critical hit lately

Godley gives up a hit to the first batter in the 2nd and Duplantier is up in the bullpen.

I would rather see the rookie on a regular starter's routine. They are going to ruin him.

And Godley gives up another hit. Two on. No out.

Godley gives up the first run of the game.

Then their pitcher hits a ball into the bullpen, just foul.

Un-Godly has no role on this team.

Greinke pinch hitting for Godley. Zack for Zach. Or did I get that backwards? :)

And Greinke with a hit. Our best pinch hitter.

And the Braves left fielder with a great catch to end the inning.

Duplantier gives up a 2-run single.

Then another hit. Runners on 1st & 2nd.

Damnit. Damnit. Damnit.

Duplanter is not a reliever!

And Mark Grace visiting the booth just
said the same thing.

And another hit and run scored. 4-0.

If the D-backs are to contend, they need to
cater to the likes of Duplantier and not Godley.

I'm all for loyalty, but loyalty to a last place
nag. No!

D-backs leave two more runners on base.

I'm sorry, but I won't watch any more today.

Baseball is not supposed to spike my blood pressure.

'See you 6:30 Monday vs. the Pirates. :)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an overcast Dbacks day game with the roof open. Completely different lighting.

Lots of people in the park today. Never underestimate the power of the codependent Mom.
