You wouldn’t think we can get one single UDFA wide receiver to sign here
On the contrary. They know that we are going to run an offense that is heavily dependent on WRs and because of that we will keep a bunch on the roster and probably at least a couple on the PS.

I’m ecstatic we got him. Brian Peavy, Iowa State corner. He’s a little small but he really held his own.

He even made the PFF’s All-American 1st Team Defense.

PFF was basically our scouting department this year. We managed to snag 3 guys on this list.
I think the reason why we lined up so well with PFF this year is because we were really prioritizing guys that produced well last year in college. Production is the main driving factor in the PFF rankings.

Green Bay is bringing in ASU QB Manny Wilkins UDFA

Good for him.

As an ASU fan I appreciate the effort and leadership Manny provided. In no way is he an NFL QB. Maybe arena league is his ceiling. I wonder what type of coach he could be

Todd McShay on Peavy...

“I think he’ll get an opportunity. If it’s not as a drafted player — which, I think it’s going to be — but if it’s not, he’ll be a priority free agent. He’ll tackle. He’s tough. He’s instinctive, and he will contribute on special teams. I think he’ll find a way to stick around, even though he doesn’t have the ideal (measurements).”- Todd McShay

How do guys with grades that high go undrafted? What are their red flags?

From what I have read is that each guy might have some skills that could translate to the NFl most have a lack of something that keeps them UDFA signings.Depends on if teams think they can be corrected by NFl Coaching. Some probably just have physical limitations for their positions that are perceived to be unfixable.
Its like Peavy the CB-short,tough but doesn`t have blazing speed,.

Looking over the Cards roster there is a scary low number of OLBers. I like our starters a lot and Brooks Reed is a capable back up but that's about it.

We probably still need 1 of each (ILB and OLB).

The roster shows we have 7 ILBers so unless a gem is released I doubt we pick up more.

How many are on the roster now? Looks like a lot of UDFAs. They may have to start cutting some to stay under 90.

Who would start if Hicks or Reddick goes down? I would personally like a solid #3 ILB and #4 OLB.

I'm liking Gardeck to step it up this year, he did great on ST's last year IMO. Zeke Turner was making some plays as well. I know what you are saying which is why I said a gem.

Didn't we have a LBer last year with the last name Cash? IIRC he was making some splash plays but then went on IR.

Every year a few don’t make it out of rookie mini camp, I am sure there will be some cuts.

I’m hoping we don't end up counting on either as a primary backup. But both have ST value.
