Three straight ground outs to Seager.

7 batters, 2 innings, not a ball out of the infield.

Greinke said he hasn't felt this good on opening day in years. But he is getting older. And started, as he did most of last season, with a high pitch count in the 1st inning.

It is why I predicted no more than 68 wins for the D-backs. It will be interesting to see how Robbie Ray starts out.

I'm still at 61 wins. Our line-up is atrocious, and outside of an aging Greinke and Ray, our starting rotation is garbage as well. Frankly, 61 wins might be a bit optimistic.

Should have traded Greinke in the offseason, when they had the chance.

Dodgers open the 4th with Single, Home Run.

Ack. I thought Greinke had a "good spring"

Two more homers given up by Greinke for a total of 3.

The Dodgers are all over his sloooooow pitch.

6-0 Dodgers in the bottom of the 4th.

And Greinke gives up another home run -- third this inning and fourth of the game.

Hopefully, the Dodgers batting practice is over. Greinke is gone.

Edit: Oops, devilalum, you beat me by a few seconds.

And Dodger Stadium isn't exactly a hitter's ballpark. Greinke is done.

Greinke's 2019 ERA is now 17.18.

And, BTW, the D-backs have one hit through the first four innings.

LOL at the comments... Seriously? How many games did you guys think this team would win this year??
If the team doesn't want to call this a rebuilding year, it's at minimum a transitional period...
They will be bigtime sellers come the trade deadline. And if dudes like Grienke, Lamb and Peralta can't find their groove and put up even decent numbers by then, the return for any asset we put up for sale won't be anything that would be beneficial to the "transition."

And Pederson with his second (of five) Dodgers home runs.

Then, my boy, Christian Walker, with a D-backs home run. And against a righty.

I just wish that Torey would commit to him being the regular platoon 1B starting vs. lefties but, according to Steve, he is hedging.

I agree with you, 1Sun, Torey is following the Brenley/Melvin approach of each day is a new beginning. Players not becoming accustomed to their roles.

Which is why they should have been traded in the offseason.

Only he sets that "new beginning" a week in advance. Beyond bizarre, in my opinion.

If it were a full "rebuild", I'm sure they would've been... Though, Greinke is a bit more problematic given his cost... By mid-year, the Dbacks will have already paid him 1/2 his salary, making him that much more affordable and attractive. And I'm sure the team was hoping that Lamb would put up a solid first half so that his stock would rise...

Lamb is much more valuable for trade purposes if he can prove to be even a decent hitter against lefties...
