Report: 'No way' Raiders play in Oakland next season after lawsuit filed

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...son-after-lawsuit-filed/ar-BBQPsf2?li=BBnb7Kz

On Tuesday, the city of Oakland finally did what it’s been threatening to do for months, filing a breach of contract lawsuit against the Oakland Raiders and NFL over the team leaving the city for Las Vegas.

City Attorney Barbara Parker said in her statement that, “The defendants brazenly violated federal antitrust law and the league’s own policies when they boycotted Oakland as a host city,” calling the team’s move “illegal.”

Of course, the NFL and the Raiders don’t see it that way. The decision to move the team from Oakland to Las Vegas has been in the books for a couple years now, and the new stadium on the strip in Sin City is well on its way to being ready for the 2020 season.

But what to do from now until then?

Based on a report from Jason Cole of Fansided, the team won’t be playing in Oakland.

Why wouldn't they just play at Sam Boyd Stadium next year?

Apparently, Sam Boyd Stadium isn't up to NFL standards...would require a lot of time and money to get it ready. Security, in particular, is a big problem there.

They broke ground in Vegas for the new stadium yet ?

Yep... Saw it a few weeks ago...surprised how far along they are.... Was also shocked by it's proximity to the strip... That place is gonna be murder to get in and out of IMO.

I doubt Ray would say yes. Plus, that's about 55,000 more seats than Raiduhs need. :help:

ESPN mentioned The Big Toaster today, but you'd hope Bowtie Jr would make them pay for yet another slab of grass. Not to mention rent.

I can just see them coming to an agreement to play in AZ, and then outdrawing the Cardinals to their 'home' games.. .... sigh...

Complete with a retractable field just like State Farm Stadium.

I would think there would be shuttle buses, private and hotel, and there is always Uber and Lyft.
