Sorry for the lateness on this one--we are getting into more interesting topics now:

For this one, I'm going to go with the boring answer:
Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman from Casablanca

Honorable Mentions:
Grace Kelly/Jimmy Stewart
Katherine Hepburn/Spencer Tracy (also in real life!)
Katherine Hepburn/Cary Grant
Claudette Colbert/Clark Gable
Marlene Dietrich/John Wayne
Jean Arthur/John Wayne

Hmm, all old couples. Have to throw in a couple newer ones...

Carrie Fisher/Harrison Ford
Julia Roberts/George Clooney
Liv Tyler/Viggo Mortensen

That's a good list, but... Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott? Really? :)

I'm not particularly a fan of either but did you see Ever After? I thought they were great together. I actually expected questions about the Bullock/Pullman pairing before any of the others.

I actually liked Ever After, but it wasn't because of the two of them as a couple. I would have gone with something like Salma Hayek and Matthew Perry in Fools Rush In instead. :)

Had I thought of it, I definitely would have included Salma and Perry. Besides loving the movie, watching Salma dance and while making dinner is a delight in itself. I also should have included Michael Douglas and Annette Bening from American President.

I guess we have different views on "romantic".

Well, I've been married 4 times and I may well have views not consistent with more classical definitions thereof......

I had an acquaintance that heralded the end of his 1st marriage with a gift wrapped dead frog for Valentine's Day, would you like his e-mail address?:p

I could see Roy Rogers and Trigger or Gene Autry and Champion as romantic (out of the gutter romantic) but I think the Odd Couple might be a stretch.

Ok, ok. I always liked Sir Lawrence Olivier and Kathryn Hepburn in "Love Among The Ruins"

I'm not familiar with the movie. Is it worth watching?

If you are feeling overly sentimental one day it's worth the watch. It's really a made for TV movie from back in the 70s. It got several awards I believe. I just always liked Olivier and who could go wrong with Hepburn.

Thanks, I read about it after you first mentioned it. It sounds interesting and I usually like Cukor's work so I'll see if I can find it.
