    49ers signed Javon Hargrave for $21 million a year, Seahawks signed Dre'Mont Jones for $17 million a year. We let Zach Allen walk for $15 million. All I can say is that I hope this is part of a plan. It's tough to watch our divisional opponents get better while we get worse.

    You're right about that. Apart from Baker, the whole secondary was questionable. It wasn't VJ's fault that we lost Chandler Jones, Hassan Reddick, Patrick Peterson among others, and that Watt was injured for most of his time here.

    My daughter, unfortunately, is a Jets fan (due to our years living in NY/NJ), but I'm still glad she loves football. I think it says something that she can root for a franchise worse than the Cardinals. We had a good time watching the Super Bowl together.

    I've seen several 49ers games this year. When they're healthy, that defense is unbelievably good, as good as I've seen this year. No way our O-line is able to match up against them. So, as bad as it was, I wasn't the least bit surprised.
