The lesson to be learned, never criticize the luxury tax.

Just saw this interesting tidbit. No active NBA player has ever played against the Sacramento Kings in the playoffs.

The Kings haven't been to the playoffs since the 05-06 season.

Where is a meme of Shaq as the old woman in Titanic? "Uhhhh, Chuck, it's been 83 years"

How many of those do you think they will actually hit on? They can package them for a player or two.

A lot if you want quality players.

They might get 3 or 4 good ones out of that whole bunch.

This is true for a lot teams.

James Jones approach of adding veteran players to surround their youthful players might help.

And OKC has even hit on undrafted free agents like Luguentz Dort.

Since 2007

Tier 2
SGA
Steven Adams
Serge Ibaka
Reggie Jackson
Eric Bledsoe
Cam Payne

To soon to tell
Josh Giddy

Pretty amazing. Given the lack of dunks he has in his career to do this at his size.

I heard something that LBJ becomes eligible for an extension around August 3rd and that's when he'll pressure LA to make a move for Irving because he won't agree to an extension without Kyrie on the team.

We'll see. Could be part of the hold up, who knows.

@Russ Smith

I can see where the Warriors are excited about the future of Ryan Rollins.

They apparently love him but he had a stress fracture in his foot and missed summer league so it's a great sign they signed him shows they expect full recovery.

Teh story was he was working out and Kerr was there on a stationary bike and said it was so obvious to him how good Rollins was after the workout he asked Myers and others and they basically said yes we love him, keep it quiet.

So Kerr was ecstatic when they drafted him

I'm going on college scouting reports. It's amazing Rollins was there at #44. The Warriors keep adding to their arsenal at guard. He seems like another player that should fit their system perfectly.

NBA opens an investigation against the 76ers.

I wonder what the penalty is if it finds anything... the loss of a second round pick?

Sure it is. With draft picks there is more risk, but higher potential reward.

Bottom line, you are not getting a young star player without draft picks, and without a young star you are not going to be able to build a championship team.

So I personally do not think you can succeed in the long run without drafting.

I think it takes a combination of adding players through the draft, trade and free agency.

The Suns do not seem to have any interest in developing young players for the future.

At some point, I don't think the growth can be sustained without the draft.
