Firing Terry Stotts seems to have been a mistake, especially replacing him with someone who has no experience. You don't fire a guy like that when you're competing unless a more established coach is available.

I am liking his rebounding and finishing around the basket. But the 3's and defense need a lot of work.

No doubt Smith needs work because he hardly played last season.

With some playing time I think he can be an NBA player. This was something I wasn't sure about last season.

We'll see. I'm still a bit skeptical.

Not sure what Hutchinson brings us. Almost every guy he guarded went around him. At least a couple times Styx had to bail him out by covering his guy in the paint.

Hutchinson is on a two-way contract so not much downside.

Styx was grabbing offensive boards when he was in there. He had to muscle a few away from the opposing players. Seems like he has some strength.

I could only listen to the game but this comment was not encouraging.

I've felt the same way for a few years, probably when we added Tyson Chandler. That's when it became painfully obvious how the majority of bigs don't box out or put much effort into rebounding outside of the 4th quarter in close games. There are some guards who are better rebounders than most centers in terms of position and technique.

I really don't understand. Blocking out for rebounds is almost an instinctive reaction when playing basketball at an early age.

It's preseason. He is a big man. A couple of these happen every game for almost every player.

McGee looks good. Having Ayton, McGee, and Kaminski is a nice combo. And Ayton and Kaminski can move it outside on offense sometimes too.
