At least Lamb is mercifully removed from the line-up.

But why does Lovullo refuse to play his best defensive first baseman (Walker) at first base???

They keep doing it. I (and others) keep asking.

How we have all of these infielders (Lamb, Vargas) start at 1B,
while our only natural 1B, Walker is DH? Is there something we
don't know about his endurance?

Walker had a groin pull right before the season started. I’m guessing that’s why he has been DHing more. I really do not like Vargas at 1B.

Thanks for the explanation. Then I wonder why Torey put Walker at 1B and moved Lamb to DH a couple of games ago?

Or why, with Lamb's disappointing batting over long stretches, they just didn't give Cron a chance at 1B or DH?

He was a run producer (the best in the Minors) with a natural position of 1B, certainly more than Lamb or Vargas.

One can usually read behind someone's eccentric behavior and understand, right or wrong, why he does what he does.

Not so, with Torey. Is he easily intimidated by his players?

Bottom line. It is time to stop trying to understand his eccentricities and replace him with someone who is not.

If MLB doesn't pull the plug on Monday (and it sounds like they are trying not to), let's promote Luis Urueta, our
Bench Coach, before another team scoffs him up, as the Red Sox considered.

Escobar with a 1-out RBI in the 1st to take the lead.

The D-backs have finally gotten the message. One team HR
so far this season. NO MORE LIFT!!! Singles and doubles and
no need to play catchup.

Rios with a 2-run HR with one out in the 4th for the Dodgers.

Weaver came apart in his last start in the 4th inning.

Yup,now a solo HR by Beaty. 3-1 Dodgers.

BB says Weaver's cutter is not working and he needs to
adjust to that

Where is the Pitching Coach? Where is the Catcher?

I stand corrected on a previous post. The D-backs have two HR's this season, not one. Still . . .

Christian Walker leads the league in doubles. OK, with Cron getting dumped, I am now a fan of Walker.

Carson Kelly hits against the shift and drives in Walker. 3-2 Dodgers.

I'll say it again. It looks like the D-backs have finally gotten the message.

No more "lift". And hit against the shift, not into it.

Take what they give you!

Weaver is indeed slipping. Dodgers on 1st & 3rd and no one out in the top of the 5th.

And there is action in the bullpen.

Then a 2-run triple. Lovullo left Weaver in one batter too late. 5-2.

I know it is easy to second guess the Manager. Even easier when
this start began the same as his last game.

And, once again, Lovullo's team will play catchup. And its now 6-2
with a base hit through the wide open side of the infield.

And now a 2-run HR. 8-2 Dodgers. I won't feel bad when I switch to
three of my favorite mystery shows on PBS in fifteen minutes.

Vargas now bricks a simple throw to him at 1B. E-3. He is not a first baseman.

That is on management! They need to get their heads out of their butts and
make it simpler for the players to do their jobs.

The Dodgers just batted around.

Anyone who thinks this team is anywhere as talented as the Doyers is delirious. They can keep their home grown players and never have to trade them away to get a talented player. They just keep their farm system intact and go buy any player they want (i.e. Betts) and keep coming up short because the have the great Dave Roberts as their manager. WE DO NOT HAVE THE TALENT LEVEL PLAYERS THEY DO. END OF STORY. With no salary cap in place we are doomed.

I think Hazen has done an amazing job building the team and the farm system. I believe Torey has done a good job of keeping it together. He has his faults, I don't get the Lamb thing unless he is showing him for a trade. Dave Roberts continues to keep his job in spite of him having the best teams and constantly blowing it. It is what it is.

I think Hazen has done an amazing job building the team and the farm system. I believe Torey has done a good job of keeping a talented team down. He has his faults, I don't get the Lamb thing unless he is showing him for a trade that will never happen. Dave Roberts continues to keep his job in spite of him having the best teams and winning the Division every year but not winning it all. It is what it is.

FIFY.
