Mercury vs. Indiana and, once again, playing catchup. But they kept it close and are down by 3 at the half.

Griner is playing a good game. I don't understand why Diana didn't come back in the 2nd quarter until
there were only a couple of minutes to go. Indiana has been doing a good job of denying her the ball.

Mercury down 76-75 at the end of 3, following an 11-4 run earlier in the quarter.

Both teams on target to hit 100 points in their 10-minute quarters.

The Mighty Mercury needs to take charge in the 4th quarter.

C'mon DT, BG and SD-S.

BG with another missed box out which allows her player to get the rebound. BG is such a waste of potential and height. She lacks that tenacity.

The Mercury lose their second straight game to a team that was blown out in
their last game.

An inexperienced Indiana team wins 106-100. With my fav DeWanna Bonner gone,
our defense is suffering. And our free throw shooting in the clutch sucks.

Diana Taurasi has not been a presence this game. Can't win that way!

You're right. Even with the points she puts up, she is not a difference maker
in the outcome of games. And although Schuyler is a good small guard, we
are really going to miss what DeWanna Bonner meant to the Mercury.

With her being a leading rebounder and the ability to be a lead scorer,
she was insurance when BG or DT was not available or at their best.

I am afraid that the Mercury's best games are behind them. Especially with
Diana getting older.

Geez, the D-backs have a weak manager, the Suns haven't been in the
playoffs for over a decade. I was hoping for a couple of dominant seasons
from the Mercury.

Phoenix has been my home for 42 years. I love living in Paradise! But,
sportswise, we are a group of small market teams.

Try the Arizona Cardinals. They look to be on the way up.

Not the best 2nd quarter. Let’s hope we make adjustments on their adjustments to start the next half.

I've noticed that Brittney is the skinniest player on the court.

She doesn't get to the foul line. And she got her 4th foul during the 3rd quarter.

In other words, she is not a Power Center, like Liz Cambage, for example.

Which explains why, despite being 6'8" and putting up good scoring numbers,
she can't carry the Mercury to victory.

With Diana Taurasi at age 38, that will become even more evident.

Agreed. She has flashes of playing well but is not consistent enough to impose her will like I expect a power forward or center to do.

Huge 3 to end the 3rd. Nice to have the momentum back.
