I had seen parts of this film several times over the years, but I don't think I ever watched the entire thing from start to finish. Great sports movie, and really good movie in general.

I would have given it the Oscar for best screenplay over Rain Man, although I haven't seen Rain Man since shortly after it was released.

Per IMDB:
Ron Shelton cast Tim Robbins over the strong objections of the studio, who wanted Anthony Michael Hall instead. Shelton had to threaten to quit before they backed off.

Hard to imagine anyone other than Tim Robbins as Nuke.

My golf buddies and I say this to each other all the time... "Don't think, meat. You can only hurt the team"

My favorite Bull Durham sequence.....

Skip: You guys. You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Larry!
Larry: Lollygaggers!
Skip: Lollygaggers. What's our record, boy?
Larry: Eight and sixteen.
Skip: 8-16! How the hell did we ever win eight?
Larry: It's a miracle.
Skip: It's a miracle!
