Source: https://www.cbc.ca/

Neil Peart, the drummer of iconic Canadian band Rush, has died at age 67.

The influential musician and lyricist died Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif., after having been diagnosed with brain cancer, according to a statement issued Friday by family spokesperson Elliot Mintz.

His death was confirmed by Meg Symsyk, a media spokesperson for the progressive rock trio comprising Peart, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson.

That really sucks. I will always regret not seeing Rush last time they played here. Peart was godlike as a drummer

It's amazing that Rush is so tight knit that no one, outside of their circle, even knew the man was seriously sick until after he died.

That really is something this day in age. Those guys were family and they clearly wanted him to have his dignity all the way to the end.
