Ok, with World Series winding down time to prepare for Winter Meetings and Free Agency.

ARZ doesn't have a ton of needs but they have a glaring need of bullpen help. They could also use an ace to take pressure off of Ray and could use a RF if Adam Jones is not brought back.

Ideal signings:
SP - Gerrit Cole - Will cost $35M+ a year but ARZ doesn't really have anyone coming up for a big extension so they could justify the salary. Cole is 3 years younger than Greinke when ARZ gave him his huge deal.

RP Will Smith - Was absolutely dominant this season with 96k's in 68 IP's and a 2.76 ERA. He's a LHP so that enhances his value and is only 30 years old.

LF - JD Martinez - Familiar face who is coming off a second monster season offensively for BOS. BOS may be looking to cut payroll so as crazy as it may sound, Martinez may become available if he opts out of his contract.

Most likely signings:
SP - Alex Wood / Michael Wacha / Madison Bumgardner? - Wood is coming off basically a season ending injury but was really good with LA before being dealt to CIN. He has more potential than Wacha to be a front end SP. Wacha was good his first couple of years in STL but had a rough 2019 compared to 2018. Both are 29 years old so they are still in their prime years. Bumgardner is a long shot unless he leaves SF, he will not be as expensive IMO than Cole or Strasburg but he would really help this pitching staff.

RP Daniel Hudson / Drew Pomeranz - Both are former SP's who now serve better as RP's. Hudson is a righty & Pomeranz is a lefty so depending on what Hazen feels he needs, these guys would be affordable options, maybe Will Harris of HOU could be an option as well.

RF - Avisail Garcia - Key piece to TB offense last year, .282 BA / 20 HRs / 72 RBIs and he is only 28 years old.

Name to keep in mind out of Korea: LHP Kwang-Hyun Kim, who wants to play in the majors next season, sources tell The Athletic. His club, SK Wyverns, is currently weighing its options. Kim, 31, had a 2.51 ERA, 180 strikeouts and 38 walks in 190 1/3 innings last season in the KBO.

Yu Darvish had a big 2nd half (0.81 WHIP, 2.76 ERA, .199 BAA) and 229 Ks fir year, but he will not opt out of his deal. Has $81M, 4 years to go. He likes Chicago and had previously suggested his plans to stay.

Ben Zobrist, the 2 time World Series champion who missed most of 2019 while going through divorce, is talking about playing again in 2020, though it’s not definitive. Versatile player is a Maddon favorite.

Rangers are not expected to keep Castillo... they acquired him because they also get $250,000 in international bonus money.... They will turn down an $8 million option on Castillo and pay the $500,000 buyout

The Rangers are expected to decline their club options on Nate Jones ($5.15M), Shawn Kelley ($2.5M) and Wellington Castillo ($8M), per a source. Elvis Andrus, who can opt out of the final three years and $43M of his contract, is not expected to do so.
