Folks are suggesting Padres prefer experience for manager, and maybe they do. But many who know AJ Preller wouldn’t be shocked if he hired Jayce Tingler, either. Tingler, a player development guy, is beloved with the Rangers, Preller’s previous team.

Good evaluation. Showalter has always been obsessive.

I like that he isn't married to analytics. But, in these times, a manager
has to reach out to his prima donna players, like it or not.

And to the tough Philly fans. The Little General wouldn't last there.

Maddon to the Angels seemed like a fait accompli from the moment the Cubs announced he would not return to Chicago. Seven teams are still searching for a new manager: Cubs, Giants, Mets, Padres, Phillies, Pirates and Royals.

Better them than us!

Butcher might be a maintainer, but we needed a pitching coach with more pizazz.

And if he was just a go-fer for Torey's inconsistency, hopefully our next pitching
coach will not appear to be so passive.
