If I was Jerry Jones, I would reply:

If Zeke holds out, and you don't lose the first 3 games, talk to me again...Maybe we'll bump it a mill or 2. :biglaugh:

Easier to find a competent RB than QB. If Dallas doesn’t pay him that someone will.

At this point I’d pay Dak and let Zeke walk. Hopefully Jerruh screws it up.

Is he nuts? Dude is not even a top 15 QB. Really I don't think he is even top 20.

Who? Nobody is paying Dak 40 million a year. I would rather get someone like fitzpatrick or foles - virtually the same quality of player, and look to draft someone.

With the way cap is going up? Russell Wilson is already at 35, it’s only going up from there.

Someone will pay that for a durable guy who completes 67 percent of his passes and averages 3600 yards and almost 3:1 TD:INT.

Not a soul is paying Dak 40m. Hell, not a soul is paying a QB 40m period outside of Mahomes.

C’mon guys. This is negotiating 101. If I were his agent, I would have him do the same. He knows he’s not worth 40M. You never accept the clubs 1st offer. Not ever. Turn down 30, ask for 40, settle for 35. If he asked for 35, he probably would settle for 32. Smart move by Dak & his agent.

Although it really doesn't matter, as long as Jerry Jones owns the team they'll never win another Superbowl again LOL

This is why he is claiming that. QB Franchise Tag this year is $24,865. The second year is 120% of that of $29,838. Then it goes to 144% or $42,966.72

So the Cowboys at minimum are looking at a 3 year extension of $97,669 or an average salary of $32,556

Thus, there is zero way that Dak accepts 30 million when he can make more than that just playing on the franchise tag.

The Cowboys are going to want more than 3 years so likely adding $2-3 million more for each additional year.

My guess is it will be a 5 year deal at about $38 million or he just plays out on the tag

Pull his numbers WITHOUT Zeke.

That gives the answer for why no one really respects Dak. Hes a good QB. Hes not a great QB.

A lot of chatter on Twitter verse from beat writers that Dallas leaked the 40 mill a year figure to get public opinion on they side.

I see about a $2 million dollar a year rise on the franchise tag so this is only going to get worse for them. I am under projecting since he has time left on his contract.

That only weakens the opinion not strengthens it. Anyone with a calculator can tell you he isn't taking less than the franchise tag sign a long term extension at 26.

Just make 32 million a year and be a 29 year old free agent
