Spent 12 years with Cardinals. MB, BA, and Mayfield all love him. Hire him NOW. I think he would be a great hire!!!

If BA coaches the Browns next year, you can bet Freddie stays...as the heir apparent.

I am not of the feeling that Kitchens has much, if anything, to do with Mayfield success. Baker seems to be self nurtured and extremely talented.

Good leaders provide resources and get out of way of Hippos. No?

Kyle shanahan is a good coach too
He is playing with a third string udfa qb, and they can offer a much better product
If they want the next the Kyle Shanahan, Scott Turner would be the way to go.

Young and innovative just like McVay, Nagy, Kyle etc.

We will disagree on this. Baker was bad with Haley and Hue fighting over power. Kitchens comes in and makes Duke Johnson, Baker Mayfield, and Nick Chubb viable players. I don't believe it is all Kitchens but I do believe he has found a way to connect with a very strong-willed young QB and help him be productive.

From Sando blog:

There have been two Mayfields; the guy we saw under Hue Jackson and Todd Haley has looked different from the passer who has played his past five games under new offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens. Overnight, Mayfield has transformed from struggling rookie quarterback to Pro Bowler:

SPLIT CMP ATT CMP% YDS Y/ATT TD INT RATING
w/ Haley 130 223 58.3% 1,471 6.6 8 6 78.9
w/ Kitchens 112 153 73.2% 1,406 9.2 11 4 114.4
Under Haley, Mayfield ranked 29th in passer rating and 30th in Total QBR. Under Kitchens, meanwhile, Mayfield ranks third in passer rating and sixth in QBR. What has changed?

I would be okay with a Freddie Kitchens hire as head coach. I'd like to see them bring Stump back as RB coach as well.

I'd say in part the opponenets. Total QBR doesn't adjust for opponents, I don't really want to spend a ton of time on this, but here are the DVOA ratings for the defenses faced before and after:

NYJ - 18
OAK - 31
BAL - 2
LAC - 9
TB - 30
PIT - 16
-----> Haley Fired
KC - 26
ATL - 32
CIN - 28
HOU - 8
CAR - 27

It's pretty stark.

Yes. Houston showed that he is not a lock for the Hall yet.

How can Kitchens make changes to Haley's offense mid-season but Leftwich can't change McCoy's?
