The new owner could move the team in 2019. Where you think they could go if they go anywhere?

San Antonio?

St Louis?

San Diego?

Louisville?

Portland?

Good Question. No to moving the team to St. Louis, they will just end packing in a couple of years of being there.

Agreed. St. Louis has seen enough NFL abuse (yes, even by our beloved Cards). If I lived there, the only team I’d want would be an expansion franchise.

The Panthers have a good market all of North and South Carolina it would be stupid to move them any potential open city would be a downgrade in the fan base and market

They are not moving. They average 74,000 fans per game which is 8th place in the NFL. No reason to move. League will keep team in Charlotte regardless of who the owner is.

They aren't moving. First priority is to sell to someone local, like Hendricks.

And don't forget that Richardson was only ONE of the owners (with the biggest share at 48%.

Depending on how the ownership is structured - the other 16 owners could have right of first refusal, or one or more could buy out Richardson's stake.

The 52% are all local.

Among them:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtba...owners-of-the-carolina-panthers/#7ebc6ab0be16

Belk Family: They own roughly 5% of the team. The South's first family of retail sold its department store chain in 2015 for roughly $2.7 billion, ending a 127-year corporate dynasty.

Levine Family: The family owns around 10% of the team. Leon Levine founded Family Dollar in 1959 and the Levines ran the company, headquartered in the Charlotte suburbs, until its sale to Dollar Tree in 2015 for $9.1 billion. The Levines are major philanthropists in North Carolina.

Steve and Jerry Wordsworth: The Wordsworths are the biggest minority shareholders of the team with an estimated 16%. The family is North Carolina royalty. They sold Meadowbrook Meat Company to Berkshire Hathaway's McLane Company in 2012.

I saw that Diddy wants to buy the team which is funny because Richardson is selling amid sexual harassment charges. Well, Diddy is being sued for sexual harassment so that should disqualify him.
