I've watched a lot of Dwight...one of my favorite non-laker players. He has played a good deal of pick and roll, and he can shoot with further range than you are laying on. He shot two 15 footers in the game tonight, one banked in the other banked off. They were good shots.

oh, good lord... you've upgraded to Kool-Aid-Crack.

He has no face up game though, it's terrible. He's mostly a strong defender with skill at garbage points. He's not a guy you'd post up, which is just fine with dantoni.

i know this... and you know this... and i know it's fine with DA, but Dwight DOESN'T know this and it ain't fine with him and he's said as much that he needs more touches down low.

Shaq is a post up guy, and that meant MDA had to adjust. Dwight is not that guy...he's better moving with the penetrating guard and getting the easy dish, or rebounding the shot and putting it down. Both things that will work in MDAs offense IF they actually run it with PG penetration.

therein lies the problem. If you watched Nash at all in the last three years, he gets NO penetration.

Hmm...because he made two shots outside the paint, same spot and same location on the backboard? Something that he doesn't shoot very often? The day after he says this to Simers:

Howard says he won't shoot the jump shots in games that he routinely makes in practice.

"I hate missing," he says. "I hate missing so much, I miss. You know why? I'm always thinking I'm going to miss this and then disappoint everyone."

Yet tonight he takes two tough jumpers and makes one of two, barely off on the second?

Again, he has more range than you give him credit for...but he doesn't shoot much. Why? Because he's a mental case.

If he wants more touches down low, he should probably stop turning it over and getting stripped so much.

I have to take your word for it because I haven't paid attention to Nash for a couple of years, but I HIGHLY doubt he isn't better at it than Duhon, Morris and Kobe.

You should.

You should start a thread about Jordan and Gronk in an epic full monty showdown so you and Gee can be happy for once. You might have to include LeBron or KG to get Gee in there though, not sure who he's backing these days.

I just backed KG because I wanted the Celtics to win (beat the Lakers).. Only two players I will watch regardless of team .. One was Jordan, the other is LBJ.. I have my LBJ team USA jersey.. Never actually got a Heat jersey.. Not a Heat fan, just jumped on that Heat team to annoy the piss out of the Lakers fans.. I took it too far.. Gotta give me credit for sticking with it that one year.. I didn't even think I could pull that off haha.. But love watching LBJ.. Best player in the game right now.. Still a Suns fan.. Even though they suck crap right now.. And will be a fan of any team that is playing the Lakers or can bump the Lakers out the playoffs..

Q and A with Howard, the "pick and roll" player, after yesterday's game:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime

"Q: Do you feel comfortable in the offense right now?
A: When they call on me, I'm ready.
Q: Is your role clear-cut?
A: Is my role clear-cut? Uhh, we'll see.
Q: How are you most comfortable being utilized right now?
A: How am I most comfortable? Give me the ball.
Q: Where?
A: What do you mean where?
Q: Where do you want the ball?
A: That's obvious, on the block. Where else? I'm not a 3-point specialist.
Q: Pick-and-roll? Dive?
A: On the block."

You've got no clue what you're talking about D-Dog.

i guess tonight's win over the Washington Generals was one of those flashes of brilliance D-Dog's so fond of.

He's dumb. He's not good on the block. He'll sing a different tune when he gets easy pick and roll buckets. I don't care what HE thinks...your eyes and mine show he is crap on the block. I know exactly what I'm talking about, and I am NOT in favor of pounding it into the block to a player who has no post moves and brings the ball down low to be stripped. He's never scored points in that kind of role...he scores them as a garbage guy or off of penetration by guards.

LOL, sure cheese. They haven't had any flashes for about 6 games now. They've deviated completely to high post iso ball and don't run much of the offense at all. P&R is nary to be run.

what the hell is about the bobcats that the Lakers have such a hard time figuring out? man... can you imagine if that layup had gone down? Someone in LA might have murdered DA at that point.

we both know that... but he doesn't and that's all that matters to a guy as stupid as Dwight. if y'all don't win a chip in the next two years with Kobe (which I do think is still very possible that you do), then Dwight (assuming he stays) will eventually become the the biggest Laker bust of all time, IMO. He will never be an Alpha Dog superstar champion IMO because he doesn't work on his game. For him to still be so limited offensively makes zero sense and he ain't a guy who can take you to a title. he's a perfect number 2 banana who thinks he's top dog.

Where did this chip word come from? I hear a lot of people saying it now and I think it sounds awful.. Where does it come from to make it sound better for me.. Because right now it just sounds like someone couldn't say ship and just ran with it..

I have no idea what it is about the bobcats or playing in the Rose Garden. Those are almost always probable losses. Hell, it took a 30-4 run to squeak by the bobcats.
