This week there's a bunch of AAU events in Vegas with a bunch of the big name HS kids often mentioned here. This link allows you to watch some games on the internet.
Yesterday I caught about 5 minutes of the LA Dream Team and Renardo Sidney in action. Confirmed everything I've read or seen before, very talented kid, completely immature. First he's about 15-20 pounds overweight, second during the time I watched once he got completely pumpfaked and fouled the opposing big 18 feet from the basket(John Henson going to UNC). Down the other end Sidney jacked up a 3, Henson blocked it, and Sidney got mad and grabbed Henson getting a foul about 65 feet from Henson's basket. The announcer said it was the 2nd time in the game Sidney had done that.
Later he travelled, the refs called it and he threw his hands up in disgust and started arguing as they went down the other end. There's a game story on one of the sites today taht quotes Sidney saying "we got screwed." One of the refs said that Sidney complained so much during the game we got tired of telling him to just play and we warned his coach he was going to have to calm down or he'd be kicked out of the game.
Rumors persist he's in academic peril at Fairfax and may just drop out and try to sign overseas although if that's true, he should be doing it soon to make sure he can get a spot overseas. and if he's really in academic trouble what the hell is he doing playing in Vegas when he should be in summerschool?
