Sugar Bowl
LSU is going to stomp OU tonight. Many feel USC is best in the country but LSU would crush USC IMO.
I could care less about a playoff. Reality is, it should have been USC v LSU for the Sugar anyways since OU didn't even win their conference but it should be a fun game tonight.

If the Pac-10 HAD a conference championship, you would have a point, but the Pac-10 will continue to be screwed until they wise up.
It would be USC vs. LSU IF there was a Pac-10 championship game....

But there should be a penalty for not winning your conference during the year...regardless of whether or not you have a championship game or not. The penalty shouldn't be an invite to the national championship game. JMHO

Need to add two teams to make that happen. BYU and Colorado? BYU and Air Force?

I would imagine the PAC10 would try and get two teams from the same state like they currently have so I would guess either BYU/Utah or Colorado St/Air Force.
From a geographic standpoint, New Mexico/UNLV probably makes alot of sense as well.
The PAC10 could also dip into the WAC pool and snag Fresno St and/or Boise St.

Fresno St. could be an interesting possibilty and one I would entertain as a Pac-10 fan more than Air Force or CSU. The Dogs have a pretty good football team every year, even beating 2 Pac-10 bowl teams this year. Once their BB team gets off the sanctions set by The NCAA thanks to Tarkanian, they should be OK. They make the tournament nearly every year and have a good fan base and a respected coach. I don't know about their other sports but who cares really as FB and BB are the only ones to turn a profit. Utah and BYU would be good choices as well, except I'm not sure if BYU has rules involving playing on certain days that could interfere w/ Pac-10 schedules.

I still think that the Pac-10 needs a championship game. There is no way in hell that we wouldn't have seen USC vs. champ LSU if USC had defeated WSU.
I would like to see the Pac-10 become the Pac-12. Fresno State would be a good pickup, and so would Utah. Geography isn't that important; look at how the ACC grabbed Boston College even though the rest of the ACC is in the south.

To be honest, I was not impressed with either team last night - USC would run all over both of them.

I agree. Even though LSU's offense was trying everything in their power to give the game away, the LSU defense was nails. USC would not have blown them out in any way. In fact, I still maintain LSU is in fact the best in the nation and they would have beaten USC.

Prove it
LSU has a fast defense - but not enough to keep up with USC.
It would be a great game though - Pete Carroll/Chow vs Nick Saban.

I think that they would've handled USC's offense. They have the cover men and the pass rush to disrupt USC's passing game.
They would have completely shut down USC's run game as well, forcing young Matt Leinart to carry the team, and as good as Leinart has been he probably would've failed like the rest of LSU's opponents.
But this is all moot because USC never won their conference championship.....oops! USC didn't play in one like LSU or OU.

USC was the CONFERENCE CHAMPS - they don't need a made-for-TV game to prove it - they did it by beating the teams in the league.
And OU wasn't a conference champ
Leinart's a better QB than White. USC's skill players run circles around OU's

Really? When did the Pac-10 championship game occur?
A championship loss is better than no championship.

Uh - you don't need a championship game to have a champion.
