I hate Duke

I hate Duke. I hate the suck-up CBS announcers that think that Duke is the greatest thing in the NCAA. I hate hearing how wonderful Duke is. I hate hearing how couragous Duhon was, playing thru injuries. I hate how Duke gets the calls from the refs. I hate how Illinois got screwed by the refs with the ticky-tack fouls they called on Deron Williams in the first half that killed the Illini.

BTW - did I mention I hate Duke?

One of my roomates in college had this weird speech impediment. I have heard little kids who have had it, but not a grown adult man.

Anyway he was a huge Duke fan because he was from NC and would say Blue Devils "Bruuu Debos" "GO DEBOS"

Funniest thing was, he worked at the McDonalds on Rural road and he couldn't say hamburger....it came out "hand-gerber". He would call the order back to the guys who make the burgers in the back (this was pre-computer days) and all I ever remember was hearing "2 Cheese-gerbers, 1 hand-gerber". I teased him daily and I'm confident if he didn't move out he would have either off'd himself or killed me while i slept.

Great now I feel guilty....Classmates.com here I come

Join the club. I've never seen a bigger screwjob than the one Maryland got in 2001 Final Four. UA got hosed the next game by the refs also, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the Maryland game. Duhon is the most overrated college player since Jason Gardner and they'll probably end up together playing in Slovenia. Gay Gay Redick is a complete douchebag as well. F--- Duke and their BS coach who gets all this hype about his "class" yet drops more F-bombs than Bob Knight. I hope Livingston and Deng go pro so the Rat gets even more pissed off and chews out some more of his former players.

But it's allright. I take solace in knowing that Duke fans are a bunch of dorks and nerds and the girls that go to Duke are completely unattractive. I know that Cameron Indoor is one of only two arenas in major college BB I could walk into wearing Wildcat red and not be worried about being beat up ( Stanford is the other). I take solace in all these Duke players will turn out to be horrible pros. Screw them, UCONN 104 Duke 42.

All-mighty Duke, you suck. It is not the "success" they have that bugs me it is the hype and that people (including referees) buy into it. BLECH!!

I'm a Carolina boy, and I have to say, that anyone from Carolina who pulls for Duke are nearly considered traitors. Most NC natives pull for either the Heels or the Wolfpack. Only Yankees that move to Carolina pull for Duke...

Yeah, I hate Duke. Alumni from Duke seem to think they are some kind of academic elite for some reason. I like to tell them, "Hey Buddy, the reason you went to Duke is because you couldn't get into Harvard or Princeton".

Dukies are just annoying in general, I think.

I'm surprised no one has brought up the fact that almost every Duke player turns out to be a flop in the NBA (Shane Battier, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Dante Jones, Danny Ferry). And if they do happen to be somewhat good, they either have career ending injuries (Grant Hill), or get themselves into a freak accident (Jay Williams, Bobby Hurley). All hail Christian Laetner for his great career.
