Hats off to Tyler Hansbrough

Just announced he's staying for his senior year at UNC. Lawson and Ellington are declaring without agents.

Gotta hand it to TH I realize there are reasons(not a lottery pick) but you have to admire a kid in his day and age who's a first team AA and yet stays all 4 years. I don't have anything against kids that leave early because they are lottery picks mind you but you have to like a kid like Hansbrough that goes against the tide.

Much props to Hansbrough for not being good enough for the NBA.

Oh I realize that's why he's staying too, and he's 23 so next year he'll be 24 which will hurt his draft status. But it is kind of refreshing for an all american level player to not be in a rush to make the NBA.

Plus next year after UNC somehow blows it again we can ask how it is that Roy managed to have an all american post for 4 years with all that talent around him and not win a title.

His NBA stock will never be higher than now, after winning POY. I don't get it.

He'll be the second coming of Mark Madsen when he finally does come out.

I agree, Russ. Hansbrogh made a good life decision. Realizing his NBA prospects might be shaky, I assume he wants a degree.

You're still wrong about Love. I think he'll be a very successful power forward in the NBA and play a long time. He has many of the same skills as Luke Walton, only better and he's bigger with longer arms and more range on his shot.

I agree Love will be a solid pro, I just don't think he'll be a great player. Honestly a lot of people think Love should stay in school like TH did and get in better shape, Hansbrouhg is much more cut than Kevin is. One more year of UCLA conditionining and coaching and Love would be even better, but he's never going to be a great athlete.

I think Kevin can play 10 years in the NBA if his body holds up hell Madsen is getting close to 10 years isn't he? I just don't see Kevin ever being a star in the NBA.

I don't fault him at all for leaving he'll be a lottery pick so why stay.
