Rice is kicking the crap out of Stanford right now. 8-0 in the 6th and Rice still is batting. Looks like the brainiacs at Rice will get their first ever NCAA Championship...in ANY sport.
Way to go Owls. Just hold on and there will be some partying in Houston.

Isn't it a little ironic, that every team east of the mississippi has the highest RPI's compared to those teams West of the River, yet...The best best College baseball is played on the Left side of this country...Rice, Texas, Stanford, Fullerton, Arizona State, and Long Beach State are the top 6 teams in the Nation. When will the selection committee stop screwing teams west of the mississippi? The College World Series hasn't had the best 8 teams in the nation for quite a while now. It's time for the sec and acc bias to end...

They need to stop doing the regional regionals (i.e. keeping teams close to home for the regionals, regardless of rankings) and go back to true seedings.

The problem of course is that baseball fans don't travel like football/basketball fans do. Thus you would end up with possibly very sparse crowds at the regional games. Keeping those teams close to home is all about the money. The way they make money is to sell tickets. Will Texas fans show up in droves in Austin if the top seed in that region is Minnesota?
props to the Owls for kicking the snot out of Stanford. Great game by them and their first NCAA championship.
