(Alamogordo-AP) -- Former Alamogordo
High School basketball star Jerome “Lenny” Holly is charged with first-degree murder.
The 29-year-old was arrested Tuesday at an apartment complex in Atlanta for a shooting outside an Alamogordo nightclub last year.
A spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office in Alamogordo says Holly is being held without bond and has waived extradition to New Mexico.
Holly is accused of killing 29-year-old Kenneth Douglas on September 15. Holly also is charged with attempted murder for shooting 27-year-old Jason Carrell.
According to police records, Holly, Douglas and Carrell were in a vehicle outside the nightclub when the shootings occurred.
An arrest warrant says Douglas was shot during a dispute over drugs. Carrell also was shot but survived and managed to call 911.
