Alex Stepheson leaving UNC basketball
Been rumored for months his dad is quite ill, lives in Los Angeles, wants to be closer to his dad.
UNC granted his release, originally people thought he'd get a waiver for sitting out a year due to the illness but reports are that's not the case his dad is ill but not so seriously ill the NCAA will waive the sitting out a year rule.
UCLA and USC are the 2 most likely because they're near his home but I've heard that ASU is also actively trying to get him.
Apparently Stepheson openly told UNC it's about playing time too and with UCLA apparently about to get J'Mison Morgan, and with Drew Gordon coming in that might make UCLA unattractive to Stepheson and push him to USC.
And of course the problem at USC is the cloud over them from Mayo has recruits scared they'll be on probation so ASU might have a shot.
