The Arizona Republic Suns power forward Amare Stoudemire missed Thursday morning's practice in Tucson because he had returned to Phoenix to have a torn iris in his right eye examined. Stoudemire was poked in the eye by Boris Diaw during Wednesday night's scrimmage. He is expected to return to Tucson tonight but will not participate because his eyes were dilated by the Suns team ophthalmologist, Jay Schwartz, during an exam today.
"He got hit pretty hard," Suns General Manager Steve Kerr said. "He had some damage to his iris, which is not serious fortunately. No damage to the cornea or retina." Stoudemire is expected to be able to return to action wearing goggles on Friday, when the Suns have a 5 p.m. public scrimmage at McKale Center. After knee troubles in the Suns' previous two Tucson camps, this would be Stoudemire's first Tucson appearance.

Hey you guys can't have it both ways if you want the team to practice defense don't expect this to be the last injury. I think your going to end up with alot more of this kind of stuff and well as other injuries from practicing hard.
why would he want to play with search engines on his eyes?
now goggles-those might be worth trying.
