He looks like he should be working in a woodshop.

Bummer, those aren't nearly as silly looking as I was hoping for. Though I do think Amare will look a good bit less fierce slamming his dunks home with them on.

I don't care if he wears googles, I dont want it to affect his jumper and his FTs. He has made tremendous strides in these areas of his game

me neither. I was hoping he'd go full retro with Worthy glasses, throw on some knee pads and grow an inch high afro.

He'll be fine, it never effected James Worthys shooting. Amare is very quick for a big man, not unlike worthy. Guys will be swiping at him as he blows by. At least now, he wont have to be tentative, worrying about protecting his eyes.

I don't care he just needs to get on the floor and practice the new system. This guy always has some way to be missing preseason training, I don't want to have to wait a few weeks and losses for him to learn what everyone else knows from practice!

I saw him at the Cardinals game yesterday - he wasn't wearing glasses or anything.

I was struck with how thin he is - it's true the camera adds 20 lbs. 'cuz he looked really skinny.

Mentioned that on another thread after Media Day, because I wondered if he had tried to get his weight down for some reason. In those pix Amare looked thinner and his upper body looked smaller too, but I noticed that change earlier last season.

Amare in goggles, while genuine, is another endor$ement.

I bet he wants to be out there as much or more than we want him out there. I think Amare will catch up fast.

Maybe I missed it, but did anyone ever say the goggles were medically necessary. I've been lead to believe this, but I've never seen it put in these terms. What I trying to say, did any doctor tell Amare that if you want to keep playing basketball you must wear goggles? What if he finds they effect his game as the season progresses. Can he decide to quit using them?
