Starting to get spoiled

I'm now find myself feeling a bit dissapointed with 10 point wins.

And what's the deal with scoring under 110? Sheesh....get it together guys.

This team is so fun to watch!

LOL! I know exactly how you feel. It was killing me when the Suns started giving up more points per game and higher field-goal percentages because they had been one of the best defensive teams early on... at least statistically. However I gave up on that dream a long time ago.

I was just sadly packing up all my Randy Johnson paraphernalia, and also all my newspaper clippings of the entire 2001 baseball playoff run - what an ecstatic, unreal time that was!

The nostalgia passed quickly when I realized - Suns are going to barrel into the NBA postseason - and STAT now IS the greatest 6'10" superstar athlete in Phoenix. Purple Reigns! LOL.

Am I crazy or are other teams starting to run more too because of the success of Phoenix and Seattle? When I check the box scores each day it sure seems like more and more teams are scoring over 100 on a regular basis. (and no I haven't checked the NBA stats).

IMO there probably is a little more running, but the increase in scores has more to do with the officiating changes. I don't think they are calling the games quite as closely as they were earlier in the season. However they are still enforcing the hand checking rules. I'll bet David Stern is kicking himself for not doing it sooner. I wonder sometimes if he didn't put his foot down sooner because it's how Michael Jordan was able to become a top defender.

I also think that some of these young players that have been drafted over the last several years are finally coming into their own. Some of these guys who couldn't shoot the basketball when they first entered the NBA are now shooting very well.

The reason for high scoring teams this year, is most teams are now looking for scorers, not defense.

So, less defense means more scoring.
