So what's with Archie?
It seems the Suns are quite enthralled with Archibald. Could someone please explain to me why?
I've not seen a preseasons game and his stats aren't all that impressive. I assume the Suns scouts and coaches know what they're doing, so I just want to know what is up with this guy?
Is there anyone out there who has seen him play much?
He just reminds me of an Ed Neely, and that doesn't thrill me all that much.

Hey, we could use an Ed Neely. This team isnt exactly stocked with big men.

I was impressed when Archie fouled out of his first preseason game in 9 minutes. It would be nice if the Suns could have an enforcer type around but this guy might be too dangerous to his teammates...
Sheppard got 29 minutes is the last game and picked up 9 boards so he might still be alive. But who knows which way the Suns are going to go with the 'bigs' we have? It's puzzling as heck - Koturovic has a decent history in Europe but he's sounded ghastly up till now and Trybanski goes nuts blocking shots yet gets little dribs of PT. I'd hate to see the Suns dump either one real quick but we do need to have one guy around to back up Jake - now. (I hope it's not Scotty as he seemed to have very little left last year - he could be 'promoted' to a coach and reactivated if necessary.)
Other teams are going to be paring down soon, too, so is there anyone we can expect to see on the waiver wire that might work out... I imagine we'll see names like Polynice, Earvin Johnson, Sean Rooks, Cherokee Parks, Corey Bount, Popyeye Jones, Mikki Moore. There are going to be others, too... some second year guys who managed to hold on for one year some place. Anyone got any bright ideas? Would anyone go for Jahidi White if he was free? Loren Woods? Aaron Williams - I'd go for him but he's very unlikely.

On the AZ Sports Report last night Gambodor (or whatever his name is) said that Suns do not like what they see out of Dejan Koturovic at all. He thinks that either Sheppard or Wetahers are going to make the team after Friday but only for couple weeks, or until Williams comes back. He also said that Suns are desperate to trade Brevin Knight and are willing to give cash, 1st round pick in return for a 2nd round pick because they are $10 mill over and would have to pay another $10 mill. So getting rid of Knight saves them a $10 mill.

If Weathers makes the team but DerMarr was cut I am going on a rampage, seriously.

One way or another its a step away from small ball.
At least Frank wont have DerMarr around to play center in his 5 guard lineup.

Give me enough warning so that I can take cover!

Weathers played poorly, would be the 6th string PG and is older than Brevin Knight with no NBA experience.
DerMarr Johnson plays well in the minutes given. Has great size 6'9 for a SG/SF, has the talent of a top 5 draft pick and is still only the age of Joe Johnson.
Conclusion?
Cut Dermarr and keep Weathers

Come on, slin, calm down. We aren't going to keep Weathers--if we're going to keep anyone "until Williams returns", it's Nick Sheppard. That's a definite.

Maybe Dan Langhi passed on him some dirt about Frank Johnson...You know, same one that made FJ play Langhi last season
