Let The Drought Begin

Its over.. No Marburys coming to fix us up for a few years.. Its over.. The best thing Cuban did was let Nash go.. It baffles me how Nash has become this mini dictator-anti-team player.. Shaq just seems to be the icing on the cake.. A bunch of grumpy old men that are effecting Amare at this point.. No drafts picks.. They were sold.. Its done..

I love the memories we had.. As a Cards fan I will always be here.. Just hate that a bitch is now in charge..

The legacy of Sarver, Kerr and D'A will be with us for years, I'm afraid. In a sense they complemented each other - whatever faults one had the other two magnified. They've run the franchise into the ground - almost no assets among the players, very little youth, not much of a coaching staff and the worst scouting organization in the league. Things will probably deteriorate for two more years while the FO tries one patch job after another - never realizing what a botch they've made of things. Ticket sales will plummet and Sarver will lose 100+ million when he bails in desperation. Kerr will be Isaiah's only competition for worst GM of all time but D'Antoni will not be tainted by it all.

The worst thing from my POV is that I didn't enjoy the run - IMO, D'Antoni's plan was fatally flawed and it was excruciating to watch it play out. Only the year without Amare was passable because I had low expectations and we did get to see Diaw turn into a player - thats always fun. And, for once the Suns didn't underachieve in the playoffs.

Yeah its the Hall of Famers on the team thats a problem are you kidding me? Their effecting Amare...what the hell does that even mean? If your griping about the FO I can see that, but Nash coming to Az was NOT a mistake on our part and Cuban didn't WANT to let Nash go so not sure why you give that moron any credit at all. And Nash is a mini dictator not a team player...what a ridiculous post!

FRONT RUNNER ALERT!!!! FRONT RUNNER ALERT!!

Where were you when Nash won his two MVPs? Still waving your banner of Cuban love?

Maybe you could offer up your crystal ball to the Suns?

But hey, at least we are 1-0 on the new season. God that's annoying.

It's getting to the point where I want everybody traded off this team except Amare....just to see what other excuses people can up with amare not improving his overall game. :-(

This is incredible revisionism by supposed Suns fans.

FACT: Had it not been for some incredibly unlucky/unfortunate situations (e.g. the stupid suspensions), D'Antoni/Nash would have very likely won a title.

FACT: Nash and Shaq are former MVPs that are dealing somewhat well with a non-optimal situation.

FACT: The Suns sold a bunch of draft picks and has mediocre or below-average scouts.

FACT: A Barbosa-JRich-Amare core has more firepower than the top three players on 80% of teams, and could be the core for a decent rebuilding project.

FACT: Dragic is looking like he'll be a decent to very good player, and Lopez may yet develop with enough ass-kickings.

FACT: Bryan Colangelo wasn't exactly a good GM to start with (remember the Longley trade?) and Kerr is looking better than BC was looking at a similar stage in their careers.

The long and short of it is that the team has talent but it just didn't click fast enough, and have been incredibly unlucky with injuries. Kerr has undoubtedly made some bad decisions, but he's also made some very good ones (e.g. Amundsen).

I'm just amazed by the level of bipolarity amongst Suns fans. After a big win, people are saying "Keep the team together!!!" After a tough loss, the same people are complaining about everything. Why not recognize that things are somewhere in between? Things aren't as bad here as they are over at phxsuns.net -- but the bipolarity still seems to be there...

BS thread. How soon we forget. Nash deserved his mvp's for a reason. Go watch some games from those seasons. He's probably the best thing to ever happen to the Phoenix Suns and he deserves respect. This thread pisses me off.

Nash made more out of that contract than I thought he would. His MVP's and clutch play for 4 of the 5 years makes him worthy of my respect.

His longevity is staggering when you consider the age at which he won his mvp's.

When he signed this contract I expected 2 good years, 1 ok year, and 2 crappy years.

I got 2 Amazing years, 1 great, 1 good, and 1 TBD. I will take that. Period.
