I was watching ESPN ticker while working out and I don't know who the source was but the ticker stated that Kurt Ramibs is the leading candidate for the Suns job and they were interviewing Jackson over the weekend.

What makes Kurt Rambis so special? Was he even a good player? As a little kid, I just remember him as the dorky dude with the goggles who kept on falling down.

Kurt looked a bit dorky with those glasses however he was a classic overachiever. He was just one of those players who was always in the right place at the right time. I'm not on the Rambis bandwagon but he clearly helped the Lakers win some of those Championships.

For me, if we hire Kurt Rambis or Marc Jackson, as long as they have virtually no CONTROL on trades (they can have input, but not control) than I'm fine with either. Jackson might be mad enough at the Knicks (even though he has a long and storied career with the Knicks) for back dooring him. He was the leading candidate for that job and even quit YES network to take the job, then the Knicks hire D'Antoni. With Rambis, he's got a long and storied career with the Lakers as well. I had the same concerns years ago for teams like Indy hiring Bird, and the Knicks hiring Isiah. And to no avail, both teams were ran into the ground.

Although, Byron Scott (and his Laker ties) has done a great job in N.O.

Worst thing this team Needs is Rambis, I just read a couple Laker Books and Shaq voted to have Rambis go, Because he could not check Kobe and pissed alot of Vets off. He was a pushover, That would be bad for Amare, Nobody would listen to him. He did have the Lakers start 10-0, he was the Coach during the Rodman Laker Debacle, The start of the Kobe-Feud. But overall I heard he was a good coach.

Kurt is a former Sun and an understudy of Phil Jackson, which is a good thing, although some others like Jim Cleamons did not have success as head coaches. Mark Jackson was one of the best pure point guards ever and seems pretty cool, but he has no coaching experience and the Suns don't need a bottleneck like that.
