Joe Smith? Happy or not?

The Suns are targeting Joe Smith. What's the consensus? Happy or not? He can't roll to the hole like Amare, but shot blocks and rebounds might actually go up!

I would take him. He is a legit big body that can take up space on the floor and help you guard bigger guys that Dudley and Lou can't guard.

He is not going to replace Amare's scoring but I think this team has proven they can still score without Amare. He is about the same level IMO of a rebounder and defender as Amare and that's all you can ask for getting a cast off from another team.

Smith still has game and he'd be a great fit. If by some miracle he and the Suns can agree to terms, that would be fantastic.

If the suns could land smith, it would be a nice acquisition. Smith fills the hole at PF better than anyone else available now.

he's obviously not discontent where he's at. if he's going to ask for a buyout, he's going to a contender like Cleveland (whom he used to play for and could really use his services), Orlando, San Antonio, etc.

But if what he wants is another contract, the suns could be his best option, he will get the most minutes and have the best stats here.

I don't think Joe Smith really needs to prove what he can and cannot do on the basketball court to people in the league. He's a known quantity.

He'd help the Suns, but I would be surprised if he ended up here.
