If Nash Is Extended He Will Be asking For A Raise
I guess Nash will be asking for a raise from the current deal if he signs a two year extension with the Suns. However, he will not make a decision until he sees what the new roster looks like. See part of the article written by Paul Coro dated 5-19-09 from azcentral.

Nash, 35, and his agent, Bill Duffy, have let the Suns know that they will wait to see how the Suns roster is altered before getting serious about negotiating a two-year contract extension. If and when that time comes, Duffy said Nash would ask for a raise from the current deal, which is slated to expire after paying him $13.125 million for the 2009-10 season.

This is where Nash and I split paths in regard to salary. IMO, such a contract is just too rich for an aging star. Maybe it's time to seriously shop for a PG now and seek trades.

Yeh, anything more than 13 mill is pushing it. I say start shopping now.

But for the life of me, I can't imagine why someone would want to own an NBA team if he cared more about breaking even than winning a championship. What's the point? Anyway, if I were fortunate enough to own an NBA team, I would never, ever, EVER favor my pockets over a chance at a title. It's like going to Vegas for a guy's weekend and refusing to lose more than $100. Why even go then? Just stay home.-Bill Simmons

This could be the first sign that Nash may be leaning towards greener pastures next season. Something this particular SUNS fan would be in favor of.

Time to start putting out the trade feelers. This team ain't winning the finals in the next two years, we can hopefully get a pick or two to help and attempt to rebuild.

Well, if the Suns extend Nash for a raise, I'm officially (back) on the "Management is Retarded" bandwagon. But I don't see it happening. As I've been saying for the past month, there was no guarantee that Nash would even want an extension with the Suns. Asking for an absurd salary is a roundabout way of saying, "I'd rather be somewhere else."

I think I am with you. Plus, Nash is also stating he wants to see what moves the Suns make on their roster?? Sounds like Nash wants to explore other teams and is saying..."short of a turnaround on this roster or paying me loads of cash......thanks but no thanks".

Management is retarded
Nash will get a raise
More scrubby PG will score 40 on us on a nightly basis.
We'll be bad but just bad enough to get a 14th pick in a draft.
Management will pick another crappy player.
Resign or sign a garbage player to complement Nash.
Lose again....

Wow all this optimism is getting me excited for next year!
I am ready to let Nash go for anything 10 million +. It's simply time to move on. Will we be as good without him in the next couple years? Probably not. But sometimes you have to take steps backwards to move forward and we are simply at a dead end with Steve IMO.

Sarver would definitely not alow a salary push for an ageing PG.
They should draft a PG this summer and ship Nash for a good 2010 pick and young talent. This is getting ridiculous. We dont need another GM called Steve.
