Haven't we clinched playoff berth yet?

Espn doesn't have a little star by our name the 9th seed is 17 games behind us with less games than that left...haven't we clinched yet?

Check out the standings on NBA.com.

They have a little x behind Phoenix which means we've clinched.

It's such a glorious sight to see the Lakers not even in the top 8 playoff seeds.

I live in LA and the Lakers fans here are in shock. They've finally stopped being arrogant and now are accepting the fact that the Team sucks. A lot of people are even starting to hate on Kobe and jumping on the Shaq bandwagon. Before it was 50/50 Shaq or Kobe's fault.

The made an awful mistake choosing Kobe over Shaq. Shaq is only like 31. He's one of a kind. There are tons of Kobe's in this league. Dwayne Wade, TMAC, Vince Carter, Jason Richardson, larry Hughes, Carmelo. Plug any of those guys in with Shaq and you have a great core already. Plus players actually want to play w/ Shaq not Kobe.

I just hope the LA fans start giving the Suns some respect and start cheering for us in the playoffs.

The made an awful mistake choosing Kobe over Shaq. Shaq is only like 31.

O'Neal is 33, and his numbers have already been in gradual decline over the last few seasons. His deteriorating effectiveness hasn't been that noticeable this season because he's playing in the lesser conference and Wade has been amazing.

I think there's no question that the Lakers made the right decision for the long term. If the Heat sign O'Neal to the extension he wants -- which the Lakers weren't going to do -- it will positively cripple the franchise down the road.

The Pacers' self-destruction and Duncan's injury mean that the Heat have more of a chance to win the title this season than most people would have predicted. If that happens, then they got what they wanted out of the trade. But the Lakers have already won titles and have to think about their future. A few years from now, they'll be much happier paying Bryant $15 million per season than paying O'Neal twice that amount.

Also, I disagree that those other players are in Bryant's league. McGrady, yes, when he's healthy; Wade, apparently, but let's see if he can do it for several seasons. The rest, no way. The current Laker roster has only two good players on it (Odom being the other) and no interior presence. Both Bryant and Odom have struggled with injuries. The team isn't good right now, but that doesn't mean that Bryant isn't a great player.

i also live in la and their fans have got to be the most ignorant sports fans ever. combine that with the fact that they ahve to endure all these loses (something theyve never seen before) and you get some confused, stupid, and annoying fans.
