Cox cable out statewide?

Our digital cable television has been out all morning. My brother's, too. We're both in east Mesa. He finally got through to Cox and he was told there's a statewide outage.

FWIW, my bedroom television with a direct cable connection (no digital box) is getting a signal just fine, in case you it's still out at game time. Just disonnect your box and plug the cable into the cable stem in the back of your TV.

Edit: Just learned that my brother's plasma TV requires a digital conversion (can't just plug directly in like my analog TV), so he's SOL, because he's not watching the game in my bedroom.

People on the Anthem board were reporting similar activity. Apparently the Cox support number is continually busy.

Some people recommend double checking your DVR list as well.

Yup, thats all you have to do.. then when you turn it back on just wait for it to get a signal while its on the blue screen.. Mine did this today and after waiting on the blue screen for about 4 minutes, it came back on..

No that might not work

It didn't for me

Same thing happened to me, I had cold pizza on, and next thing you know, the dreaded 'not authorized' screen came up.

I tried the unplug thing, or unplug directly from the back of the box, but that didn't work.

I wrote down this number 1-800-699-8151

It was busy the first few times I called, and I was thinking big outage.

This number gives you a recording where they will send a signal out to your thing. Ofc that didn't work so I called back and talked to a live person. They had me unplug it, resend the signal, then plug it back in and it worked.

Holy shnikes, right when I'm posting this, IT HAPPENS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well at least I know how to fix it. lol

But it should work, well at least for a few hours lol
