Baron Davis to GS for Dale Davis, Speedy Claxton
SO MAD
Quote:
The New Orleans Hornets have traded guard Baron Davis to the Golden State Warriors for Dale Davis and Speedy Claxton, ESPN has learned.
Baron Davis, who returned to the Hornets' lineup Wednesday in a home loss to Seattle, appeared in only 17 of New Orleans' first 53 games because of back, heel and ankle ailments.
The former UCLA star would relish a move to his home state, sources told Stein, where Davis would be paired with Jason Richardson in a potentially high-scoring backcourt.
Baron Davis is averaging 18.9 points and 7.2 assists per game for New Orleans.
Earlier Thursday, the Hornets, who are stumbling through an injury-marred 11-43 season, acquired forward Glenn Robinson from the Philadelphia 76ers for Jamal Mashburn and Rodney Rogers on Thursday.

If Davis plays it will be a good back court.

I doubt that DD will want to play for NO. my guess is that he will probably ask the Hornets to buy him out of his contract. Look for him to be available next week. With SA picking up Mohammad and Miami signing Morning, the Suns may have a good shot at getting him, since he mentioned he wanted to sign on with a playoff team.
Hopefully we have a shot a getting a dissedent from the Hornets.

Well, if we can sign Dale Davis and Gary Payton to come off the bench, I'd be pretty happy.

pretty less what Gs gave up for Baron.
I'm not too high on Baron but still he's like Steve Francis and we all know he is overrated but still a guy who can play

It is kind of interesting that one of the reasons, be it a small one, was that Dickau was playing so well for the Hornets. Dickau was a throw in with Dampier trade to Dallas and was not given a chance to play after being acquired with Dale Davis from Portland because Derek Fisher was signed by GS. Now NO has Claxton and Dickau in their backcourt.

I do think that Davis (if healthy) is significantly better than Francis.

I doubt DD will get bought out. His chances of getting a reasonable contract next season depends on him showing he can still play and he will start on the Hornets.
