Raja Bell stepped up and said something to Horry. The way everything was handled after that lacked common sense.
To all the "during and altercation" people. There wasn't an altercation. Only Horry gave Raja an elbow. Also Amare was up and moving before the "altercation" so if you interpret word for word there shouldnt be a suspension.
To all the "Ok but Amare still left the bench and was on the court" people. So was Duncan and another Spur in the second quarter of the same game when James Jones and a Spur collided. Where are their suspensions?
Barkley was right, this bad rule was all caused by that no good coward, street-clothed, blind-sided punch that Greg Anthony hit KJ with when we played the Knicks.

The worst part was that after all the dust settled, Horry's negative actions ended up rewarding his team.
Then when no refs were punished for their gambling after the Donaghy scandal (which has miraculously dissolved from the news cycle) I was on suicide watch.

I still cant get over this every time I watch Greg Anthony on TV. It makes me think less of the networks that hire him. That was an all-time cheap shot on one of the all-time good guys of the NBA. Someone like that should be shun from the NBA, not placed into high-paying NBA analyst job.

I was thinking about it recently too. Regardless of how it affected the outcome of the series, I just can't stand the move itself. I'm a bit hockey fan, and it reminds me of how cheap shot artists have been protected by the instigator penalty. Not that I wanted a fight or anything--it's just so lame that the greater punishment was levied for the act of leaving the bench rather than the act of hip-checking a clean player into the scorer's table.

If the same 2 teams cross paths again, that won't happen. You got a 300+, 7'1 guy on you're team who isn't afraid to stick up for his team even if its against an old team mate of his...

What is he going to beat Horry up? Then basically the same thing did happen again. Horry cheapshots Nash, Shaq gets suspended for a couple games.

Naw, I just think his presence alone in the arena won't let that scenerio happen again...

Once Iavaroni realized Amare was off the bench, he should have told him to keep right on walking to the scorer's table to check in. If Amare had kept right on walking, acting oblivious to the action on the court, he might not have gotten suspended.

Pat Burke should've kicked someone's ass.
I can't believe the Suns had such and enforcer-looking guy and never used him as such. They really could've used him against the Spurs last year or the Lakers in '06 to play the role of a goon.
Unfortunately I am guilty of judging a book by its cover. Burke was pretty soft.
