Just saw that Chap. Good news that we still may end up getting something for Stoudemire. I'll be impressed if Sarver manages to pull off this double sign-sign-and trade involving Warrick and Stoudemire. This bit of news also discredits Hollinger's article asserting that the f/o was unaware of salary cap implications and missed out on an opportunity for a sign-and-trade. A large TPE could be huge later on in the season and could net us a big time player. Dumping LB would actually increase the odds of using such a TPE.
I don't get the Barbosa for Moon/West thing, but if Sarver pulls off one of the other two options, then that is some serious GMing. Amare would be wise to facilitate this as it would increase his salary, but therein lies the rub - Amare being wise. That said, I hope that this is how it goes down. If we end up with Lee and Warrick - DAMN! I'll take it:

The other scenario would be just dealing with NY and getting a huge TPE and a 2nd rounder back in exchange... Just think what an owner willing to spend and a savvy GM could do with a TPE that big around the trade deadline.

Hell, even that would be better than nothing. Understand, I do want Stoudemire gone and I am not opposed to just letting his ass walk at all. However, if we could get a little something out of the deal, that would be preferrable - that's all. You know?

I think that could be done. It's all in how the sequence plays out. That would be a major coup, though, to get Lee and Warrick for what we would have had to have paid Stoudemire. Starter quality AND bench depth (however it works out).

That really is a lot of depth, even assuming we lose Barbosa for nothing.
PG is fine with Nash and Dragic.
SG is a bit thin- either Dragic or Dudley would need to back up J-Rich
SF would be loaded- Hill, Dudley, Warrick, Clark
PF would be Lee, backed up by either Fry or some smaller guys- Warrick and Clark
C Good shape with Lopez and Frye.

Not necessarily. Nothing can happen until July 8th, so the Suns might have been unaware of all their options when they agreed to the Frye and Warrick deals, but they still have time to explore those options.
As for the Coro article, there are advantages to the sign-and-trade as far as NY is concerned, so they may agree to it. Amare wouldn't actually get more money or more years, because they've already agreed on a deal. But I assume his camp would agree to the sign-and-trade too, since it won't make any difference to them.
As far as all the Barbosa rumors are concerned, none of these deals make sense for Phoenix this summer. There is no need to shed any salary now. Like I said before, any move like the Boston or Cleveland one would be another cost-cutting move disguised as something else, except this time we are nowhere near LT so it is even more difficult to justify.
