Spurs get RJ for Oberto/KurtThomas/Bowen

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4281291

So they start Parker, Ginobili, Jefferson, Duncan, and whoever at center. Scary lineup.

Great trade for SAS.

Kurt Thomas is tied to so many lopsided trades that teams are trying to obtain him in hopes that he can land them a lucrative deal later on!

eeehhh... so they trade 3 of their best defenders for a average scorer... not sure this makes them that much better if not worse.

If the Bucks immediately cut Oberto and Bowen to keep them off the salary cap, they could both resign with the Spurs. So the trade could end up as RJ for KT.

An average scorer? If you remove Jefferson's rookie year where he only started in 9 games he's a career 19+ ppg, 3 apg, 5 rpg guy.
Solid.

we never end up on the "we sent you expiring garbage for a good player" end of these deals. and that sucks.

good deal for spurs. bowen was done. kurt is somewhat useful. oberto is immimently replaceable for the spurs. and now they've got another potent score, got a bit younger, and more athletic.

and we're going to play the bucks' role in whatever deal we swing. awesome. make it happen. then we'll get to watch as we draft robin lopez part deux. FLEXIBLITY!!!

Do you watch basketball?

Bowen degraded faster than Raja did in the last year
Oberto's job was to take fouls so Duncan didnt have to
KT is worth moving to get a legit starting SF, RJ is a great scorer and plays both ends of the floor.

San Antonio wins with this one. Two players with high mileage and one who is a role player at best for a multi-faceted player who can put up points and will thrive with a PG like Parker and take pressure off Duncan. For those who thought they would be irrelevant next season, think again.

By the way, how stupid is Milwaukee for making this deal?

They're a bad team....what do you expect?
Memphis bent over for the LakeShow to give Gasol away. Why? They're a bad team.
These bad teams are constantly trying to dump salary so they can constantly suck so they can consistently get into the lottery and sign their high draft picks so they can dump them later on for more flexability to suck.

Thomas and Oberto were in there to bang with the big guys, Duncan can't...how does this help?

Thomas and Oberto are nothing special and replaceable IMO. This is a fantastic move for two not so great players and an aging Bruce Bowen. What is not to like about this trade.

Some of you want to stand pat with the team we have? Really?
