Can we keep the goalline? - I think we got it figured out.

This was our goaline offense...notice how weak our upfront blocking was:

LOT
Eilot "Thunder Ball" Franklin (OT)
LG
Runnophf Myhughass (G)
C
Dirk "Wrecker" Garthwaite (C)
RG
Henry "Bulldozer" Camp (G)
ROT
Anton Chigurgh (OT)
TE
Punishing Hands (TE)
TE
Bull-In ChinaCabinet (FB)
TE
Colton Kidd (HB)
QB
FB
Tropic Thunder (HB)
HB
Plenty OfRange (FS)

I signed a CPU fullback (probably won't use him), added a couple of linemen to the TE chart and adjusted the TE/FB settings to assure max playing time for Hands and Bull.

So our goalline should look like this:

LOT
Eilot "Thunder Ball" Franklin (OT)
LG
Runnophf Myhughass (G)
C
Dirk "Wrecker" Garthwaite (C)
RG
Henry "Bulldozer" Camp (G)
ROT
Anton Chigurgh (OT)
TE
Punishing Hands (TE)
TE
Brian "Piledriver" Calusky

TE
Hawaiian Heart Throb
QB
FB
Bull-In ChinaCabinet (FB)
HB
Colton Kidd (HB)

Throb is 3rd on the TE depth so that he'll be positioned on the far strongside (he's got good agility/speed).

With Throb's blocking and Piledrivers mobility - we have a much better line....with C.Kidd actually carrying the ball.

Yeah...but at least we're addressing it now than after the playoffs.

The Snipes matchup pretty close to us.
I can't help but wonder just how good we are?
Is it our playbooks? Our talent?

Why are we so good?

*BTW, Great job shutting down the passing game.

I obliged the owner of the Snipes to a rematch after he was talking some smack about how good his team is....here was that conversation:

bug03 last year really clamped down on us last year during the playoffs...in fact that game alone made us revamp our AI tactics to no longer rely on a player to carry a team.

You guys did a great job on us and we learned a few things from that game - I'm also confident that bug03 is going to do a good job tactics wise ...and give us a few more lessons.
I just wish we could have a rematch Jughead haha.. you'd probably win again, but it'll be fun. We have a revamped AI tactic that I think is almost at the peak performance finally, and our defense is improving every game..

I think we'd beat the Drunk Fu if we rematched them.. and Jughead.. I hope I rematch you in the divisional championship.. well kind've don't because I want to win and advance to AA..
Shoot over a scrimmage challenge - anytime is fine with me.

We just move really well...not super speed wise - but agile.

I've seen offensive lines that are super strong - but move like glaciers...our oline averages 50-60 speed/agility...so we move like the denver broncos - where all we need to do is get in position to lay a block and to allow the HB's to do their jobs.

Also - the oline is doing a great job in protecting the QB's....which incidentally is also very mobile.

Here's a post you'll also find interesting:

Okay, how much speed/agility SHOULD a QB have? Doesn't bother me any, my QB is becoming a mobile QB. But out of curiosity, how much do you suggest?

I dunno, probably 40 or so? Depends on the speed of the HB.

One idea that I've been kicking around is just having some sort of preset speed for handoff motions, so as to make them always work perfectly. There's so much variation in the speed of QB's and HB's that it is very difficult to make sure handoffs and pitches always work the same way, as drawn up.

I'm not sure if anyone really realized that yet, might have a bunch of immobile QBs slightly screwing up the running game.

Its amazing to read how folks are frusted that they can't run a pitch and that their HB's must be nerfed.

Also our WR crew is so much better with Maksim Maksov - because def. coordinators can't oversell itself in defending the run. On the DC side - imagine the feeling knowing your CB's can't go 1:1 coverage.

Defensively...we're still a little soft in a couple areas but our AI tactics are holding up pretty good.

You realize I haven't changed any of the percentages this season? Its realtively the same AI that I built for game 1.

I haven't even gone into how your Off. AI is simply in the top 5% of quality AI's.

Sorry for the ramble.

Zambezi Silverbacks vs. Christchurch Fighting Maori

Thoughts:

First off, Silverbacks RB Jacobs is sick fast. That was explosion, especially on the outside plays.

Secondly, I've adjusted the passing offense. We've gone a touch too pass heavy and it's put us in a hole early. We're returning to a run based offense. The passing isn't going away, it's just going to be less frequent. We got to where we are by being tough.

On some of the outside plays (like Proset HB Sweep) I've made sure that Pushing Hands is in as TE. He's got the speed to get outside, which is something our G's have been struggling with. We'll keep up with our "Big 6" line on inside and off tackle plays, but we need to seal quicker, so let's see if Hands can get his hands dirty.

Tropic Thunder's getting a couple of run plays designated as "his", so own the opportunity.

Gutty!
Dynamite!
Pick Six!
BacktoBack Aaah!

And Again!
So VERY Close

We kicked a field goal with our last possession, when the extra 3 points meant nothing. So I've added an input to make sure when down by 10-13 We're still going for it on 4th down.

Nice work Spck.

I watched the game and came away with the impression that it was just a good game between 2 evenly matched teams with good olines.

Our dline needs to improve...we've been at the 48 rating for too long.

They definitely won the time of possession battle.

It really amazes me how much the defense rely on the offense when it comes to that one stat...so any little bit the offense can do is great.

FYI - This team should crush us:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=835

I'm going to set the Def. settings to the
Goalline and DE contain to see the results.

I'm also going to draft a couple of highlevel CPU DTs to give us better depth.
