Yotes lose to the Sharks in the Rose City

San Jose Sharks forward Todd Harvey scored early in the third period knocking a rebound past Coyotes goaltender Sean Burke to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead over Phoenix.
The Coyotes almost tied the score a few minutes later when Ladislav Nagy found himself alone in front of the Sharks goaltender, but Evgeni Nabokov like he_did all night made the stop.
The Sharks added two more insurance goals late in the third period to earn a 3-0 win over the Coyotes.
After two preseason games for the Coyotes that didn't feature many altercations, Wednesday's game against the Sharks_is making up for the lack of rough play.
The second period was very similar to the opening_20-minutes as penalties and chippy play have dominated tonight's game._ Early in the second period, Coyotes right wing Mike Johnson had a breakaway, but Nabokov made a beautiful glove save.
Burke held the fort for the Coyotes making several quality saves during a stretch_in the middle period that saw Phoenix receive four straight penalties and have a five-on-three disadvantage for 1:20._
The Coyotes and Sharks played a scoreless first period that featured_four fights and several quality saves by starting goaltenders Burke and Nabokov.
Burke robbed Sharks forward Nils Eckman, who had a_quality scoring chance in the slot._ Nabokov made two nice pad saves on Todd Simpson and Shane Doan_during one of_Phoenix's two first period power plays._
The Coyotes outshot the Sharks 9-8 in the first period.
