Sorry about the loss to the Flyers. That must sting...but this was a great season for the Pens, and hopefully you'll get another crack at Philly in the playoffs. Ottawa is not in great shape right now with some recent key injuries, especially if Alfredsson really does miss two weeks.

It stings only because the Cryers didn't beat us, we did. We decided to rest Crosby, and it seems like the rest of the team decided to take the game off as well. The Pens announcers even said we were kicking around the idea of resting Fleurry for the 3rd period. I think this overall attitude is extremely stupid on our part. Yeah, we get a supposedly toothless Senators team in the first round, but you know, I really don't want to play four games in Montreal. Stupid, idiotic, and soft. That describes our approach to yesterday's game.

Malkin made Mike Commodore look like an amateur on the second Pens goal tonight.

Commodore was in a tough spot. What do you do? You can't just shut down the passer and give Malken a 1-on-1. You can't charge Malkin because he'll make you look ridiculous and get the puck right to Sykora. Kind of a lose-lose, but he should have made a choice to force the issue.

Commodore was the defender than Malkin beat along the boards at the blueline to set up the 2-on-1, not the defender on the 2-on-1 itself.

Oh, okay. Yeah, he was owned on that play. Bad gamble against Malkin.

Well, that was nice to see.

Scary Gary with two goals! Nice to see him back from the broken leg. That was a good win last night. I hope they carry it over to Friday night.

Good to see the Pens make it to the next round.

One of the best traditions in sports:

I heard that Gary Roberts lugged a giant broom to the igloo tonight. This won't be a long series.

You know who would win in a fight between Avery and Ruutu, right? Gary Roberts.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Penguins forward Gary Roberts will sit out Friday night's second-round playoff game against the New York Rangers with a groin injury.
The same problem forced the 41-year-old Roberts to miss the final two games of Pittsburgh's first-round sweep of Ottawa. Roberts scored two goals in the first game of that series.
Roberts decided he couldn't play after going through the team's morning skate Friday.
"It's Gary's call," Penguins coach Michel Therrien said. "We're disappointed that he's not able to play, but we have to respect that decision."
Roberts played only once during the second half of the regular season after breaking a leg and spraining an ankle Dec. 29 against Buffalo.

That's okay. He'll be back soon. The coaches just realize there's only so much pain one team can take, so they have to reign him in a little and save him for later in the series I'm told his shadow is going to lay some hits on Avery, though.

Did you see it, with 14 seconds to go? The Rangers shot a puck that was going in, and a shadow flitted across the goal mouth, and suddenly, the puck hit the post and clanged out. Who was that shadow? Gary Roberts, of course
