NJ Devils are the Champs

Growing up in New Jersey I am a big NJ Devils fan and just can't believe they won their third Stanley Cup. I remember the bad times in the 80's. Wayne Gretzky called them a Mickey Mouse organization. I am a Devils fan but I do pull for the Coyotes and would love to see them make a run for the cup. Gretzky has them on the right path. By the way, I think Brodeur should of won the Conn Smythe(3 shutouts in the finals and a record 7 shutouts in the playoffs)instead of Giguere but I know Martin would rather have the Stanley Cup.

I thought it was totally classless of Devils fans to boo Giguere. And then for Brodeur to skate out there acting like he should've won the Conn Smythe... what a prickish thing to do. It would be interesting to see what he could do on a less defensive team.

I agree about the reaction of the fans but any home crowd would boo if their team won the Stanley Cup and a player on the losing team won the Conn Smythe. In my opinion Brodeur was the best player in the playoffs. Seven shutouts, three in the finals is just amazing. Also, I find it interesting that Disney owns the Mighty Ducks and is affiliated with ABC and the games were shown on ABC. Giguere did a great job in bringing the Ducks to the finals but to win the Conn Smythe for the losing team you really have to outshine over everyone and in my opinion he did not.

Cup et al

Martin got the Vezina. Some goalies feel that it is more important than Conn Smyth. IMHO I think they got it backwards.
Jiggy was friggin awesome all year and so was Martin but thats the way it goes. As for the righteous hit on Kariya by Dr Thump---
it was a beautiful thing, wasnt it?And then Kariya comes back with a goal. God! I love this game!!!!!!!

What is the plan(????) to get the Coyotes into contention? When I left in '01 they looked like they had a chance. I doubt if they could beat the Aeros right now. There is serious scuttlebutt that Burke will be in net for Colorado when the season starts.
