Nikita Filatov

This guy looks like a great pick if he falls to 8. A dangler with play making ability...His English is great for a 18 year old Russian and he plays on the Penalty Kill....Sounds like a winner to me...Any thoughts hopes or dreams for the upcoming draft? Does Anyone want to trade the pick?

Filatov would be a steal at #8, but I don't think he will last that long. I'm hoping for Mikkel Boedker. He'd be an explosive winger with Mueller or Turris, but I'm not convinced that he will still be around at #8 either.

Question...with so many good young players and five picks in the top 50, wouldn't this be a situation that screams trade? I understand the importance of developing young talent, but this team has plenty of it and needs a few guys that can put the puck in the net. I would like to see them make a move to acquire a proven goal scorer.

The tricky part is that this is considered one of the deepest drafts in the last several years, so having that little stockpile is quite the luxury. Whether or not the draft lives up to that remains to be seen, but it will probably make GMs a little more reluctant to give up picks. Its gotten to the point where nothing the Coyotes do surprises me anymore, but I personally have a hard time seeing them moving that #8 pick. A minor deal involving one of their second rounders wouldn't be out of the question though.
