New Deal in the Making?

They keep toying with us. A group of players have been talking with the owners, so theres apparently still a possibility for "uncancelation," but Im not too optimistic...yet.

I unfortunately don't see that happening because Gary Bettman wouldnt want to "lose any pride" whatsoever....

I know that's a moot point, but there wont be any progress made until he's removed as commisioner and Bob Goodenow also isnt in the mix.....

Bettman doesnt get the final say. The owners and/or Board of Governors can override him (although a bit difficult).

True....I guess he's "their puppet"...but it would even make him appear more than a fool than he actually is by cancelling the season and then having to "retract" all that he said..... I dont have any faith in him or the BOG whatsoever since they're always looking at their own best interests really......

What saddens me (I know several others) the promise/potential the Coyotes had during (for the now "aborted" season), and we'll never see any of all the upgrades they make truly go into fruition.....I will soon post another thread regarding that topic...such a travesty!

Sounds like a good time for a coup.

Just a crazy huntch but, with ESPN possibly pulling out of the NHL alltogether and Gretzky and Lemieux getting involved, i'm going to say Game On. The players know they will never make this much money ever again if they dont get this thing done. They need to do this IMO.

I think it would be great if that weasle Bettman had to go back on ESPN and announce a new deal - especially after that beauty performance he was forced to give the other day.

Any chance Stern would hire him back at the NBA?!?
