Coyotes’ Youth Hockey Mini-camps Filling Up

COYOTES’ YOUTH HOCKEY MINI-CAMPS FILLING UP

This summer’s Phoenix Coyotes Hockey Development Program mini-camps are quickly filling up, but there are still a few spots available for last minute registrants.

The first two mini-camps for Squirts (ages 9-10) and Peewees (ages 11-12) will be held August 15-17, followed by Bantams/Midgets (ages 13-16) August 22-24. Instruction will focus on power skating, small area games, off-ice conditioning, shooting, passing and in-depth goaltending.

Instructors for each mini-camp will consist of current and former Coyotes players, coaches and broadcasters. Some of this year’s instructors will include Coyotes forwards Shane Doan and Peter Mueller, defenseman Derek Morris, director of prospect development and former Coyotes goaltender Sean Burke, associate coach Ulf Samuelsson, goaltending coach Grant Fuhr, strength and conditioning coordinator Mike Bahn, and video coordinator Steve Peters. Coyotes broadcasters Darren Pang and Louie DeBrusk, as well as former Coyotes forward Brian Savage will also serve as instructors at some of this year’s mini-camps.

Registration is limited to the first 36 participants (32 skaters and four goaltenders) in each age group. The fee is $250 and participants will be provided with a jersey, t-shirt, workout shorts and water bottle.

The hockey mini-camps will be held at Desert Schools Coyotes Center located at 7225 W. Harrison St. in Chandler.
